Wind turbines at sunset

actum

/ˈak.tum/nounLatin
  1. a thing done; a deed carried through to its end.
  2. that which is complete, as distinct from that which is merely intended.
The name

We chose a word that does not mean observation. It does not mean analysis, or insight, or intention. It means the thing was finished.

That is an unusual standard to set for a company whose instruments are software and data. We set it deliberately.

Why we exist

A loss too quiet to notice.

Renewable assets rarely fail loudly. They underperform — a fraction of a percent at a time, across thousands of components, for years. In solar alone, Raptor Maps’ 2025 Global Solar Report puts the cost at USD 5,720 per MWdc in 2024: roughly USD 10 billion a year, industry-wide.

Almost none of it is anyone’s fault. It persists because “the asset is running” and “the asset is running as well as it could” are different statements, and the industry has been content to measure only the first.

What we hold to

Three words, held to the same standard as our name.

potential

Not what an asset was budgeted to produce, but what it could have produced under the conditions it actually met.

A target met is not an asset performing. We calculate the second number because it is the only one that tells an owner what is still available to them.

discipline

A field of expertise deep enough to require its own practitioners.

Monitoring, analytics and the control of work have become analytical disciplines. Root-cause diagnosis and repair are hands-on engineering. Both have grown deep enough to deserve dedicated teams, working to one plan.

action

The point at which knowledge changes something.

A report that changes nothing has cost an owner money twice. We stay with a finding until it has been assigned, executed and verified — and we say so in writing, every day.

What we are building

Excellence in operations has long been the standard in aviation, in process industries, in power generation. We are bringing it to renewable energy — to solar, wind, battery storage and hydro, wherever those assets are built.

Team

Every side of the table.

Our team brings decades of combined experience running renewable energy assets — as O&M contractor, EPC, asset owner and asset manager. Our advisory network spans renewable energy, finance and regional markets across Asia-Pacific and South Africa.
